This week I found an artist named Yulia Brodskaya that does some fantastic typography work combined with an old paper-curling technique called quilling (or also called paper filigree). The thing that really impresses me about this work is her ability to use such a tedious, hands-on way of working while still making type that looks effortless and clean. For Yulia Brodskaya's portfolio site, check out http://www.artyulia.com/. She has a lot of non-quilling work and some cool illustrations on there! And for more information on quilling, check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quilling.
