Typeface Fusion

Mixing typefaces creates an exciting and visually pleasing design that demands attention but it also forms a hierarchy system for the context. I find that this can be a daunting task.

So in my search to understand how to unite two contrasting font, I found that H&FJ suggests four simple rules of thumb when mixing typefaces to create an exciting design. The designer should consider contrasting personalities, similar families but with different features, and similar line quality if texture differ and similar proportion.

Below are some examples of my experimenting with mixing typefaces.
