In my personal exploration of typography blogs and websites, I have been particularly struck by the use of type in animations. The thicks and thins of fonts already carry so much life and fun in them, that of which, animation only cements. The combination of type and animation brings so much more meaning to an already very meaningful group of characters.
Another thing I saw commonly depicted in these short videos was the use of very common typefaces. The creator of the first two videos is a graphic designer based in France. I have posted a link to his website below:

The first video gives us a brief history of ways that type is used in both movies and print.

Even in the second video, when the type is mainly in French, I was
struck by the subtle beauty and purpose of the typefaces themselves.

The last video is a little different then the first two. By Leandro Senna, it uses type to illustrate a song by Bob Dylan. As I mentioned before the type in the last two videos were pretty common typefaces but the ones in this video are hand drawn and to fit the playfulness of Dylan’s song.
