After scoping the web for inspiring
typographers, I found Sean Freeman’s mix of typography and illustration to be
very unique, and was stunned by his incredible fusion of organic and digital
elements. A London based designer, Sean uses real life objects in combination
with photography and computer manipulation to create incredibly expressive
type. His work goes beyond simply creating beautiful letterforms, and is more
like visual storytelling. Freeman associates words and textures with feelings and
connotations to create something powerful. He likes to experiment with as many different
materials as possible, including sand, wood, glass, plastic, and even fur. Overall,
his work really shows the possibilities of what type can be.
