Type is Sweet

One of my favorite designers, Marian Bantjes, created these beautiful hand done, type phrases purely out of sugar. Done for a contribution to Stefan Sagmeister's series "Things I have learned in my life so far", she used the sugar typography to illustrate the phrase "If I want to explore a new direction professionally, it is helpful to try it out for myself first."  The series of photographers depicts first the designed phrase followed up by the "destroyed version."  It is interesting to see the limitations and interesting qualities of the sugar as the type.  I hope you enjoy these as much as I did!
